Barrie Watts

Barry (Barrie) Watts, age 87 of Whitby, Ontario passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home on Wednesday October 29, 2025. A husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Barry will be remembered fondly by many.

Son of Lancelot and Elsie Watts, Barry was born on November 11, 1937 the youngest of their 5 children. He came from humble beginnings making the most of what his family had.

As a young boy he was a member of an Anglican church choir and an unbelievably talented hockey player,  remembered even to this day for his ability to shoot with both hands.

His love of sport extended beyond hockey to include golf and baseball, especially this postseason as he cheered on the Blue Jays.

Barry had a passion for wood working and an undeniable work ethic. Although in his 87th year, and almost up to his dying day, Barry was a dedicated and well loved employee of Home Depot.

Barry is survived by his wife Jane; children Colin (Cathy), Ian (Donna), Alison (Chris), Robyn (Kevin) and Susan (Shane); his grandchildren Brittney, Emily, Chloe, Hannah, Charlie, Quinntin, and Oliver; and many Huntsville Ontario family members (where he loved to fish) including brother Lanny, his nieces and nephews, Diane, Karen and Owen.

A mass was said for Barry on Sunday November 2, 2025 , 9:30am at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
