Benjamin Allan Obituary

December 14, 1934 – June 30, 2025

Benjamin Roland Allan passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2025, in Huntsville, Ontario, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, generosity, and devotion to family and community.

Born in Milton, Ontario, on December 14, 1934, Ben lived a life marked by hard work, resilience, and a spirit of adventure. In the 1960s, Ben started and successfully ran a fuel oil business that serviced much of the Niagara Peninsula. It was during these years that his determination and ingenuity truly shone, building a business with integrity, honesty and dedication to his many customers.

In 1976, Ben and his beloved wife Juanita, with whom he shared 64 years of steadfast companionship until the time of his passing, took a courageous leap, selling their business to pursue a quieter dream. Together, they owned and operated Sandhurst Vacationland in Kearney, Ontario, welcoming guests to a place of rest and family connection. Though changes in the travel industry led them to close this chapter, Ben and Juanita embraced a new start in Emsdale, Ontario, where Ben lived out the remainder of his days with purpose and gratitude.

Above all, Ben was a family man. He and Juanita raised three children: Jeff (Christine), Jamie (Jamie), and Jay, and Ben took deep pride in their accomplishments and joys, always quick to offer advice and encouragement. He found immense satisfaction in his role as a grandfather to Connor, Jordan, Cameron, Bentley, Brodi, and Logan, celebrating every milestone and sharing in every small delight of their lives.

Ben was a man who tackled every task set before him, always finding a way to get a challenge across the goal line with patience and ingenuity. Whether it was in his business, caring for his family, or lending a helping hand to a neighbour, Ben gave generously of his time, never expecting anything in return. In a world where time is the most precious gift we can offer, Ben’s willingness to give his time freely and without hesitation is perhaps his most enduring legacy.

Those who knew Ben will remember him as a person who touched the lives of everyone he met in a positive way. His genuine desire to engage in meaningful conversation and rock-steady presence when needed will be dearly missed and forever cherished by his family and friends.

Ben’s life reminds us that true success is measured not in accolades, but in the kindness we show, the families we nurture, and the lives we quietly and consistently uplift along the way. His legacy of hard work, service, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.

He will be deeply missed, and forever loved.
