Carole Gail Marguerite Black (Sutton)

With heavy hearts and boundless gratitude for a life lived with unwavering love, incredible zest, and strong spirit, we let you know our beloved Carole Gail Marguerite Black (Sutton), passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, at the age of 84.

Carole was affectionately known for her infectious smile, uplifting spirit, and unique will. She brought joy to all who crossed her path. Born on January 1, 1940, she was the first New Years baby in Toronto and continued to blaze her own trail for 84 beautiful years.

As a devoted wife of 59 years to her husband, Jim (James) Black, Carole exemplified the true essence of partnership and companionship. Together, they weathered life's storms, hand in hand, and celebrated its joys with strong faith, lots of dessert (specifically ice cream) and love. Theirs was a simple love story that inspired all who knew them.

Carole was a great mother to Brian Black (deceased) and Gail (Laurie) Black-Elliott. With boundless patience, high expectations, and unconditional love, she instilled in them a faith and the values of perseverance, doing your best, ambition, kindness, and politeness.

Jay Shapansky was a special part of the family, that Carole lovingly considered her own, like only Carole could. Carole’s sister Elaine Keddie meant the world to her, and they always remained very close and connected.

Beyond her family, Carole touched the lives of many through how she lived her life. Carole loved people and spread her unique love wherever she went.

Though Carole has left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the legacy of love and laughter she leaves behind.

A celebration of life service for Carole will be held at Calvary Church in Gravenhurst on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1pm. Visitation will take place before the celebration of life from 11am – 1pm also at Calvary Church, with a reception to follow https://www.calvarygravenhurst.com/.
