It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Darryl Lynn Groomes (Duke). Darryl will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife of 25 years, Julie, his 3 boys Cyle West, Andrew (Kim) Groomes, Ryan West and his best friend Karin (Tom) Brown. He is survived by his mom Kathaleen Fick and predeceased by his dad Howard Fick. Darryl has a special bond with his brothers Bill (Gloria) Weathers (predeceased), Norm (Kathy) Horton, Bob (Sandy) Fick, his sisters Sharon (Todd) Hannah and Terry (Mike) Moore. He also leaves behind his brothers Rob (Judy) Weathers, Edd (Shelley) Groomes and Howard (Crystal) Fick.
There are so many people Darryl loved and was loved by, who he considered family, he was a favorite in-law, uncle, brother and friend to so many, some who shared his DNA and many who didn’t.
Darryl worked hard and played hard, he always would stand up for what’s right, rooted for the underdog, he loved Pink Floyd and The Doors, he was so special.
He gave love unconditionally to everyone, and made so many lives better. Even our dog is in mourning. When he crossed he had three of his special dogs meeting him.
Darryl ‘s sense of humor was one of a kind, I will miss his jokes, his pranks but most of all his unconditional love for our family and all the children that we had in our care as foster parents.

RIP Darryl, no one will ever replace you, I was the luckiest woman to have someone as special as you, you put up with me. I know the boys and I have the most fierce, protective, and loving angel watching over us. I know his beautiful angel wings are wrapped around us doing his best to shield us from the pain we are going through.
