It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Edwin Allan Hines on August 26, 2023 at the Huntsville Hospital. Loving husband of Judy Hines of Burks Falls. Much loved father of Wade (Alison), Wanda (Karl), and Warren (Jocelyn). Cherished grandfather of Justin (Emma), Blake, Domanic, Braiden (Lexxie), Travis, Tyler and Samantha (Edd) and great grandfather of Leah.
Dear brother of Ethel Irving (Jack-deceased), Maude Irving (Lawrence), Hilda Wright (Jim), and George Hines (Nancy). Ed will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and fellow horsemen. Pete the pup and Gypsy his horse will also wonder where their master is.
Ed was one of a kind. He always had a story to tell, a unending file of jokes and a quick wit. He was rarely seen without a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was an avid horseman who still competed in barrel racing and loved cattle penning. He trained most of his own horses. Always a hard worker, he was totally content to be a humble farmer and was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In following Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Service will take place at Sundridge Legion on Saturday September 30, 2023 from 1-4 p.m.
Memorial donations to the Algonquin Grace Hospice or a charity of your choice would be acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
