Jake Maria VanBilsen

Peacefully and surrounded by family, Jake Van Bilsen, age 86, of Huntsville, (formerly of Ekfrid Twp) Ontario, passed away on January 24, 2023. Husband and love of his life, for 58 years, to Ina (Ineke Joosen). Loving and supportive father to Paul (Jane), Mark (Robin), and Jacques (Deb). Awesome Opa to Kyle (Emily), Todd (Taylor), Brandon (Brittany), Steven (Jaida), Nicholas, Kendra, Jacob (Isi), Jordan (Emily), Ben, Markie, Elizabeth and John. Special Great Opa to Henry, Myles and Scarlett. Dear brother of Corry Salmen and Rita (Jack) Slykerman. Predeceased by grandchildren Sarah and Joseph, brothers Martin, William, and Henk, brother-in-law Dan and sisters-in-law Nellie and Johanna. Jake was a farmer and campground owner. He loved to curl, play shuffleboard, travel, and spend time gardening. Special appreciation to Muskoka Landing Long Term Care team for the care provided over the past several months and to Dr. Stewart and Dr. O’Halloran for their compassion and kindness.
