John David Cottrill

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of John David Cottrill who left us too soon on January 13, 2025 at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

Born to Vern and Rose Cottrill September 27, 1959 in Huntsville, ON.

Complications from a short bout of pneumonia caused John to leave us just 71 short days after losing the love of his life Joyce.  Together again, , they will be celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary in March.

Predeceased by his mother Rose (2017) and his brother Mark (1961), John leaves behind his father Vern, Brother Tim (Shelley),Cottrill and Sister Ruth Cottrill.  Also left to mourn is his daughters Kathy-Jo McAdam and Karen Watt (Dale) who he loved dearly.  His grandchildren Scott (Sydney), Ethan, Tatum, Kilian and Devlin.  

Ruby his beloved fur baby, will never be the same.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle rides, gardening and crosswords.

Making lifetime friends working at a variety of places including Huntsville Planing Mills, Hydro and Moore Propane, John had the ability to make everyone feel valued with his gift of gab.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Gospel Hall, Saturday January 18th from 1:00pm-4pm.  65 West Road, Huntsville.
