It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of the strongest men we know. Joseph "Archie" Ward, devoted husband to Barb for over 47 years, lost a very hard battle to cancer.
Archie was a loving father, poppa, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He was our tough cookie, enduring many health challenges over he last 10 years. His family meant the world to him. He was always just a phone call away for all of us when we needed him, especially when it came to being "dad's taxi", available 24/7! He loved driving and it showed in all of the jobs he had over the years, lacrosse bus, taxi driver, and delivery driver to multiple lumber yards all over Muskoka. He was fortunate enough to have found a job that he loved at Call of the Wild for over 10 years. Don and his work family held a special place in his heart A few things that we enjoyed teasing him about were, his love of a great meal, he would never turn down a sweet treat or a cup of coffee and would boast about his ability to maintain his 32 inch waist that he had since the age of 18! His great memory, his stubbornness, his backing up skills with a trailer and his laughter while shaking his head at the same time.. He will be missed so much, forever in our hearts and always in our thoughts.
Dad was at Hospice for 5 days and we could never begin to say how thankful we are for the heartfelt care we all received there. If you see a purple boot, think of Archie and the countless others and consider making a donation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Muskoka Cremation and Burial Services.
