It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Preston on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at home in Huntsville, at the age of 81 years old. He was surrounded by his loving family and fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Walter (Pete) and Jessie Preston.
He was the beloved husband of Linda, his wife of 43 years.
Loving father to Laurie, Donna, Jerry (Kerrie), Jeff and Kim (Aaron).
Best Grampie to Shane, Jessica, John, Leslie-Ann, Adam, Laura, Camden, Lyla, Phenix, Journey, Max, Daisy, Kenny, and Annette; and Great Grampie to Weston & Dean.
Ken will be missed by his brothers Harry (Carol), Ted (Cindy), and Gary; and his sister-in-law Vi. Uncle Ken will be fondly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Our Dad will be remembered for his witty sense of humour, his love for music and singing, and you could often find him writing short poems for those special moments. But the most important thing and what brought him the greatest pleasure, was the time he spent with his family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mittal and the many nurses and doctors from Closing the Gap and The Huntsville Palliative Care Team for the wonderful care and compassion they provided during this time.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will take place at the Active Living Centre, located at 20 Park Drive Huntsville (rear entrance) on Saturday January 28th, 2023, from 12pm-3pm. Interment will take place at the Grenfel Cemetery in the spring.
