Linda Gail Forbes

The world has lost an incredible woman. Linda Gail Forbes, age 74, of Emsdale, Ontario died December 27, 2020 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital with her daughter at her side. These trying times created barriers for loved ones to visit but they were there with her in spirit, en masse. Linda will be deeply missed by all those who knew her over her extraordinary lifetime.
Determined, feisty and with a laugh that filled every room of the house, Linda was a force of nature. Her kindness and commitment to service helped her evolve into the caring, giving and loyal woman all who knew her loved. From her early days in Windsor, Ontario to her later years in Muskoka and the Almaguin Highlands, Linda was always looking out for the underdog. She had a diverse and varied life-never one to shy away from risk, she dared to explore with enthusiasm many of life's different paths and had an unwavering loyalty to those who shared the journey with her. From Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta and her European adventures, Linda never stopped finding meaning in the world around her and the people she met along the way. Friend to everyone, Linda could never make it out of a shopping excursion without a few wisecracks and genuine conversations with the people waiting in line with her. She radiated life. Linda will be fiercely missed by her children, Laura and Richard, sisters, Barbara and Patricia, their children and spouses, her dear lifetime friend, Susannah, cousin Hugh and wife Marlene and all of her friends and neighbours, near and far. The world was a better place because of Linda Gail Forbes and we shall carry her in our hearts and spirits always and forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring 2021. Donations in Linda's memory to heart and stroke research are welcomed (or to charities that support affordable housing and senior's rights).
