Linda MarIe Powless, 75, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Hospice Huntsville with her children by her side.
Linda was born in Huntsville on December 16, 1948, to parents Alfred and Elsie Ward; she was the oldest of seven children.
As a young woman, Linda made her living as a waitress, cleaner, and long haul truck driver. Later, she enjoyed driving fast cars and being a homemaker. In recent years, she loved to play bingo, listen to her scanner, and spend time with her family, friends, and her dog, Molly.
Linda was mother to three children, Wayne Stoneburgh, Fred (Karla) Stoneburgh (Campbell), and Joanne (Jamie) Vanstone.
Linda spent 34 years with her beloved husband John Powless, along with their dogs.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Elsie, brother Thomas, son Wayne, and husband John. In addition to her children, Linda is survived and dearly missed by siblings George, Paulette, Karen, Sandra, and Phyllis, as well as eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many friends and extended relatives.
Linda will be remembered for her sweet tooth, fiery attitude, unfiltered sense of humour, and fierce love for her family, friends, and pets.
An intimate celebration of life will be held in Linda's home on November 30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Huntsville or an animal shelter of you choice.
