Marianne Drautz

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Marianne Drautz on February 3, 2025 in Huntsville, Ontario at the age of 91. Marianne will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love of nature, her genuine interest in people, and her love of family. She talked to anyone, befriended every animal she met, danced like no one was watching, played cards fiercely, and loved a good ice cream cone any time of the year!

Marianne immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1957 to work as a nanny and housekeeper in Toronto. In 1958, she married and went on to have three children. She worked hard all her life and looked forward to time at the family cottage near Dorset, Ontario whenever she had the chance.

She is survived by her sons Mitch (Colleen), Peter (Iris) and Andre; her grandchildren Samantha (Nick), Diana and Dylan; her great-granddaughter Lucille; her sister Christel, brother-in-law Gunter, sisters-in-law Hannelore and Marianne, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Fritz and Peter, her sisters Erna, Luise and Irma, and her brother-in-law Hans. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

As per Marianne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Muskoka Landing Long Term Care Home in Huntsville for their care and compassion over the past number of years.
