Nicholas (Nick) Hay, 80, of Huntsville, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 17, 2024.
Nick was born on January 17, 1944, in Edinburgh Scotland. On October 4, 1963, Nick and Beatrice were married. In 1969, they immigrated to Canada with their two small children, Suzanne, aged five, and Stephen, aged two, making a new life together in Toronto. As a family, they enjoyed camping in Huntsville so much that they moved there in 1976, creating a warm and welcoming home.
Nick had a lifelong passion for music and proudly played the drum in the Cameron of Lochiel Pipes and Drums-Huntsville band for more than 40 impressive years. He enjoyed teaching new members his passion for playing the drum. As a member of the Stephenson District Lions Club, Nick enjoyed serving and improving his community.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Beatrice, his sister Eileen McDonald, daughter Suzanne Ambrosio (Dan Gravelle); son Stephen Hay (Michaela); and cherished grandchildren Christopher Pincivero, Lucas Hay, and Maggie Hay. Nick was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and his legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of those that knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion-21 Veterans Way Huntsville, Sunday September 8, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 pm with remembrances at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Stephenson District Lions Club at stephensonlions.ca or Hospice Huntsville at hospicehuntsville.com in Nick's memory.
Nick will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
