Patricia Beal Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Anne Beal (Davis) peacefully at her home on January 31, 2025, at the age of 85. Pat is survived by her children, David Beal (Andrea) and Mary Anne Beal Love (John Dunn) and her grandsons Matt and Liam Love. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, and younger sisters Nancy and Janet. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt, and many close and very dear friends.

Gifted the opportunity to attend Ontario Ladies College when she was young, Pat went on to become a teacher, working in one room schoolhouses in Gods Lake, Manitoba and Snowball Corners near Aurora, Ontario before settling into a long and respected career at Devins Drive Public School in Aurora, where she is fondly remembered by former students, parents and fellow teachers. The daughter of Ellwood and Helen Davis of Aurora, Pat will be remembered by many as a smiling member of the Davis family.

Pat and Ralph retired to Muskoka in 1994, where Pat continued to live after Ralph’s passing in 1999, settling happily in Huntsville from 2001, onward. She met with close friends regularly for lunch and will be remembered by many for her long uplifting phone calls as she stayed in touch with friends no matter the years or miles that stretched between them. Her greatest joy in her later years involved daytripping, working on puzzles and enjoying dinner or cup of tea with her dear friend and neighbour, Jessie.

Because many of mum's friends live far away, and some are no longer able to drive, we chose to colebrate mum's life in several small gatherings after her passing.  As per mum's requests, we buried her ashes in the Davis family plot in the Aurora Cemetery above her parents Ellwood and Helen Davis, and beside her youngest sister Janet.  A stone marker will be placed in the spring of  2026.

If you wish to make a donation in mum’s name to a charity she believed in, know that she was a longtime supporter of Huntsville Hospital, Hospice Huntsville, the Table Food Bank, the Salvation Army and the Muskoka SPCA.
