Ross Edward Jordan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ross Edward Jordan on April 16, 2025, with his family by his side, following complications from pneumonia.

Ross was born on January 7, 1962, in Burk's Falls, Ontario and spent his childhood in Hornepayne and Capreol, Ontario.  He was a kind and caring person, known for his thoughtful nature.  In his younger years, Ross had a love for hockey and was especially proud to have attended Bobby Orr Hockey Camp-an experience he spoke of often, especially the moment when he met Bobby Orr himself.

For the past year, Ross resided in Huntsville at the Muskoka Landing Long Term Care Home, a place he affectionately referred to his "leisure home".  Our family is deeply grateful to the staff for their  warmth and compassion, and the respect they treated him with during his time there.

Ross lived with mental health challenges for much of his life.  Though often invisible, the struggles he faced were deeply felt.  He met them with quiet resilience and dignity, despite the stigma that too often surrounds mental illness.  His life reminds us all of the importance of empathy, understanding and kindness. 

He will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Barbara.  He was recently predeceased by his father, Alex.  Ross is survived by his brother Bryan, and sisters Shalene (Joe Bonhomme) and Darla (John Bagwell).

He was the proud uncle to Nathan (Becky), Trevor (Shannon), Anthony (Ashley), Connor, Alex, Sam, and Olivia.  He was also a beloved great-uncle to Ayden and Alexander.

A joint Celebration of Life for Ross and his father, Alex Jordan, will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025, at the Dorset Recreation Centre in Dorset, Ontario, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Muskoka Cremation and Burial Services-Huntsville

Ross will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit and the quiet courage with which he lived his life.  He is now at peace and will be forever in our hearts.
