It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Eugene Smith at Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville on Oct 15, 2024 at the age of 74 years.
Tom was born on Oct 8, 1950 to the late Frank and Theresa Smith (Howell), step mother Angela (Malady).
Devoted husband to Shelley (Goulbourne) of 52 years.
Loving Father of Ryan (Ange Howard), Rebecca (Scott Franks) and Matthew.
Grandpa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Mason & Ellie (Mom Peggy and stepdad Chris Shannon), Jaxson & Blake, and Madden (Mom Krista Schmidt) and step grandchildren Adaira & Rhys.
Tom leaves behind dear brothers; John (Betty), Dan (Susan), Frank (Trudy) and predeceased by Michael Smith.
Dear sisters; Pat (Vince Lecourt), Joan (Russell Hamilton) and predeceased by Terry Ann Smith.
Dear brother-in-law, Ted & Pam Goulbourne and predeceased by brothers-in-law; Ron Goulbourne (Nancy), (Evelyn) and James & Kathleen Mary Goulbourne.
Tom will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends.
Tom was an enthusiastic fisherman, waterskier, baseball player and coach. He was a humble yet strong and powerful man in personality and friendship, and an endlessly devoted husband, father and grandfather. Tom was a retired Bell Canada Lineman of 28 years however, he later worked at Nexicom, Budget Propane, and Pickard Construction. He made so many friends and formed special bonds with his co-workers and neighbours, whom he thought of as family.
As per Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and an informal memorial, with immediate family, will take place at a later date.
Donations to the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital or Hospice Huntsville would be greatly appreciated by his family.
