Warren Jenkins Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Warren Jenkins, with his loving wife Margaret and daughter
Sion, his sister Ruth and his brother Kelly by his side on April 28, 2021 at the Algonquin Grace Hospice after a long
courageous battle with cancer.
Warren was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved up to Novar, Ontario when he was a young boy. He was a typical
farm boy doing farm stuff and helping take care of his younger siblings when his father would be out of town. His
favourite thing was to work with the horses with his Uncle Frank. He had a passion for lacrosse when he was a boy
but helping out at the family farm took priority.
He wore many hats over the years. His first real job was pruning Christmas Trees for JK Maw, a machinist at a textile
factory in Toronto, he made several trips out west with his cousin Harvey Gabriel to work on the Farms, he worked on
the pipeline, he was a heavy equipment operator, a stone mason in fact many well-known buildings in Huntsville and
surrounding areas he has done the block and stone work on. He tried long haul trucking, he cut and sold firewood for
many years before he got a job working on the landscaping of golf courses to his last job working at the Muskoka
Board of Education (Trillium Lakelands District School Board) as a custodian and maintenance worker. While
working for the local school board Warren became a chief steward for the custodial/maintenance department and
then later the President of the OSSTF support staff at Muskoka Board of Education prior to the amalgamation of two
other school boards which is now known as Trillium Lakelands District School Board. He retired as the maintenance
guy from Huntsville High School in 2012 where he was loved by all the staff and students.
Warren is known for his love of hunting, fishing, camping, a passion for cooking and storytelling to his many nieces
and nephews. His favourite place and thing to do was going to Temagami and spending many quiet days on his
houseboat with his wife. Their little piece of heaven! During his illness, he spent many hours watching videos and
reading books on his new passion of woodworking. When you would go visit him you would be guaranteed that
Youtube would be on with him watching his favourite how-to videos.
Warren leaves behind his loving wife Margaret of 52 years, his daughter Sion (Ian), his one and only granddaughter
Shannon. He also leaves behind his sisters Arlene (Jimbob), Nancy(David), Nadine(Kevin), and Ruth(Jim), brothers
Hugh(Wendy), Kelly(Janet), Jimmy(Cathy), his sister-in-law Shelley Ryan(Gary), brother in law Micheal Ryan(Sandy),
Aunt Arlene Chandler and his Uncle Bob (Marie) Chandler. He was loved by his many, many nieces and nephews
and dear friends!
He is predeceased by his parents Gwendolyn and Logan Jenkins/ (Frederick & Jackie Chandler), his brother Micheal
Jenkins, his brothers Terrence Chandler, Fred Chandler and his sister Wendy(Chandler) Burtt.
A cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to be held on a later date when we can all gather safely!
