Wilfrid Nazaire Jolicoeur

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wilfrid Jolicoeur on December 30, 2024, at the Algonquin Grace Hospice. He was 90 years old.
Born in Renfrew, Ontario, Wilfrid lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service. He dedicated his professional life to helping others as Manager of  paramedic services and E.R. nurse, embodying compassion and commitment in every aspect of his work. His outstanding dedication to his vocation left a lasting impact on countless lives. His life took him to Smiths Falls, Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Newmarket, Barrie and Bracebridge/Huntsville.
Wilfrid was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Muriel, who passed away on February 12, 2018. He was also predeceased by his six siblings: Zita, Lorraine (Jock), Theresa, Helen,
Gerald, Laura and Madelaine.
He is survived by his three devoted children: Wil, Brian, and Laura. Wilfrid’s legacy of love extends to his seven cherished grandchildren: Rebekah, Raquel, Carleigh, Elijah, Menya,
Franchesca, and Tamara, as well as his twin  great-grandchildren: Sloane and Riley.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wilfrid found immense joy in playing cards, a pastime he relished throughout his enriching life. Whether surrounded by family or friends, his
sharp wit and memorable sayings brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare –
Huntsville and Algonquin Grace Hospice for their compassionate care.
As we remember Wilfrid Jolicoeur, we celebrate his life of service, his love for family and friends, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
A mass offering for his repose will be offered on January 13 th at 12:15 pm at Notre Dame Basilica in Ottawa.
